Tour operator TUI, in cooperation with European Air Charter (formerly Bulgarian Air Charter), is offering direct flights from Graz to Larnaca every Monday from 2 August to 1 November.

With the addition of Larnaca, TUI is responding courageously to the Corona situation: as the start of departures to various sun destinations had to be postponed somewhat, the season is now being extended for customers with another new destination from Graz. Cyprus, with its pleasant autumn temperatures, is particularly suitable for this.

“Travel was one of the most missed activities last year. We see a strong backlog demand especially for trips to the sea. Along with Greece, Cyprus is in vogue this summer. We are very pleased that we can now offer our customers in southern Austria and neighbouring countries weekly direct flights to Cyprus from Graz from the beginning of August until the beginning of November,” says Gottfried Math, Managing Director of TUI Austria.

“With the new summer destination to Cyprus, the recovery process at the airport continues,” informs Wolfgang Malik, CEO of Holding Graz. “In addition to the resumption of scheduled flights and the attractive summer offer, this is another sign that Graz is taking off again.”

Next to Greece, Cyprus is in trend this summer.

“Cyprus is the perfect choice for a seaside holiday not only in summer but also in autumn,” explains Wolfgang Grimus, Managing Director of Graz Airport. “We are very pleased that our partner TUI is reacting so flexibly and courageously to the Corona situation and that we can offer passengers from Graz another new attractive destination.”

Cyprus is not the only destination with which TUI is reacting to the changed demand situation. Departures to the two holiday islands of Heraklion and Rhodes have also been extended well into the autumn, until the end of October.

Flight times from Monday, 2 August 2021:

Graz departure: 2:30 pm             Larnaca arrival: 6:40 pm

Larnaca departure: 11:10 am       Graz arrival: 1:20 pm

Cyprus – the island of foam-born Aphrodite:

Due to its location, the third largest island in the Mediterranean still offers pleasant temperatures of up to 30 degrees in October. If you want to cool down in between, head for the Troodos Mountains with its highest peak Olympus (1,952 metres), where you can even go skiing in winter.

Cyprus has a lot to offer in many respects: Due to the combination of sea and mountains, there are seemingly limitless sports possibilities. Nature enthusiasts, on the other hand, are fascinated by the island’s rich variety of sea and mountains, rivers, dunes, (salt) lakes, gorges and the flora and fauna that inhabit each.

For those interested in culture, the legacies of antiquity and the Middle Ages are a must, such as the archaeological park of Paphos, the excavation site of Kourion with its impressive Greek-Roman theatre or the Templar castle of Kolossi. Another highlight are the painted churches in the Troodos Mountains, which have even been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
