You don’t have your own car, you want to be environmentally friendly and you want to be mobile in and around Graz at a reasonable price? No problem with tim – daily. intelligent. mobile.

Now you are probably asking yourself: “What is tim? That’s why I’m summarising the most important information in this article – so stay tuned!

There are now eleven tim mobility hubs in Graz where you can use (e)-car sharing, rent a car or charge your private e-car. You can travel to these mobility hubs comfortably by public transport and then use the tim services. You can choose from locations such as Hasnerplatz, Jakominigürtel or the Chamber of Commerce. In addition, there are other locations where conventional car sharing is offered. You can find an overview of all tim locations here.

NEW! tim at Griesplatz

By the way, a new tim location has recently opened at Griesplatz. There, too, there are parking spaces with two electrically powered tim car sharing cars including charging infrastructure. In addition, there are two parking spaces for fossil-fuelled car sharing cars, as well as a space for a tim rental car for longer journeys. You can also charge your private e-car or park your bike there. Pretty cool, isn’t it? And if you have to do something in the Graz area, there are also several other tim locations around Graz that you can reach by public transport from Graz.

How the whole thing works

The whole thing is totally uncomplicated. Simply pre-register online at the tim service centre at Steyrergasse 116 (you need a B driving licence), receive on-site training and get your tim card. The tim card is your (car) key to full mobility, so to speak. Alternatively, you can also use the accompanying app. Then it’s time to book. You can do this via the tim booking platform or the tim app. And off you go: unlock your car with your card and you are mobile. After your errands, return the car to a tim location and lock it with the card. For e-cars, please don’t forget to plug in the charging cable.

Is that affordable at all?

The most important question is probably the price, isn’t it? Here, too, I have summarised some information for you. Registration costs 15 euros once and there is a monthly membership fee of 7 euros. But did you know that if you have an annual ticket with Graz Linien, you even save the membership and registration fee for the validity period of your annual ticket? Simply ingenious, isn’t it? If you then need a car, e.g. for shopping, for two hours, you pay 4 euros per hour. That means you always pay for the duration of your booking. I would say that this offer is unbeatable, especially for annual pass holders.

Now there’s really nothing to stop you from being intelligently mobile every day and planning a trip to the Weinstraße, the thermal baths, the zoo with the kids (there are also child seats), the lake with your friends or mountain climbing.

Of course, I would be very happy to see one or the other of you in a tim runabout in Graz – feel free to tag me (Instagram: @sebastianzier) if you take advantage of this super cool offer! Personally, I’m a big tim fan and will use it more often now.

Yours Sebastian
