Unique anywhere in Austria: first barrier-free “tim e-car” does its rounds in Graz

“tim” brings together several mobility services and combines pedestrian, cyclist and public transport with alternatives to your own car such as car sharing (also electrical), rental cars and e-taxis. The plan was always that “tim” was to be there for all residents of Graz. That is why there is an Austrian premiere with “tim”: the first barrier-free e-car sharing vehicle in Austria. People with disabilities can thus also use clean and innovative mobility in Graz with immediate effect.

The company “Lopic GmbH – Reha Technik Graz”, which is specialised in this field, has converted the environmentally friendly “tim” e-Golf so that this vehicle can now also be easily used by people with disabilities:

 

• In the e-Golf, the company “Lopic” installed a telecommander stick, a control unit with twelve functions (e.g. light, windscreen wipers, indicator) that is operated with one hand. It is now also possible to break or accelerate with only one hand.
• In addition, the e-Golf now has a second accelerator on the left that the driver can switch on or off electronically. And a driver seat recognition system has also been installed. This automatically switches the interior light on when a person sits down on the driver’s seat.
