Rail replacement services during construction phase 1:

 

WHEN:

Saturday, 3 May to Friday, 23 May 2025

WHERE THE WORK IS BEING DONE:

Eggenberger Straße (between Asperngasse and Alte Poststraße towards the city centre)

WHAT IS BEING DONE:

Western connection to depot 3

Brief information:

The western tram switch system to depot 3 is being renewed. Lines 4 and 7 will therefore run from the ‘Köflacher Gasse/PVA’ stop to the Laudongasse loop. From the ‘Laudongasse’ stop, the replacement bus lines E4 to Reininghaus and E7 to Wetzelsdorf will run via Laudongasse and Alte Poststraße and on to the terminus stations.

Please note the replacement stops for lines E4 and E7 for the ‘Alte Poststraße’ stop. Eggenberger Straße will be one-way in the construction area between Alte Poststraße and Asperngasse towards the city centre, as will Daungasse in the same section.

 

Tram:

Lines 4 and 7 coming from the city will turn round in Laudongasse.

 

Rail replacement service:

From Laudongasse to Reininghaus (line E4) and to Wetzelsdorf (line E7).

Saturday, 24 May – Friday, 4 July 2025

WHERE WILL THE WORK BE DONE?

Remise 3, construction of the east exit and entrance, Neutor line connection Annenstraße – Vorbeckgasse and track replacement in the curves of the main station tram subway.

WHAT IS BEING BUILT?

Eastern connection of Remise 3, Neutor line connection and track curve renewal on the main station tram line.

Brief information:

These construction sites require a rail replacement service for lines 1, 4, 6, 7 with the rail replacement bus lines E1 and E6. Lines E1 and E6 start at Jakominiplatz via Griesplatz, Annenstraße to the bus stops at the main railway station and continue via Köflacher Straße to Alte Poststraße.
From here, the replacement bus routes split: E1 continues to Eggenberg/UKH and E6 to Smart City.
In the direction of Jakominiplatz, both replacement lines run from Alte Poststraße via Eggenberger Straße (stop in front of the building authority building) and continue via Annenstraße – Griesplatz.
Lines 4 and 7 run from Alte Poststraße to Reininghaus and Wetzelsdorf respectively.

East:

Line 1 runs Mariatrost – Jakominiplatz

Lines 5/6 run St. Peter – Jakominiplatz – Puntigam

 

Rail replacement service:

Lines E1 and E6:

Buses on line E1 run Jakominiplatz – Griesplatz – Annenstraße – Keplerstraße – Hauptbahnhof (bus stops) – Köflacher Gasse – Alte Poststraße – Georgigasse – Eggenberger Allee – Schloss Eggenberg/Schlossspark (only during the opening hours of STEIERMARK SCHAU 2025 from 10.00 to 18.00) – Eggenberg/UKH.

Buses on route E6 run in the same way as route E1 to Alte Poststraße, then via Laudongasse – Asperngasse – Daungasse – Waagner-Biro-Straße – Smart City.

Buses on lines E1 and E6 travelling into the city will run from Alte Poststraße – Eggenberger Straße – to the replacement stop ‘Hauptbahnhof’ in front of the building authority building and via Annenstraße – Griesplatz to Jakominiplatz.

Line 62 will be diverted in both directions via Daungasse and Waagner-Biro-Straße due to the roadworks: the ‘Asperngasse’ stop will be relocated to the “Daungasse” stop and the ‘Köflacher Gasse/PVA’ stop will be relocated to Waagner-Biro-Straße as an alternative stop.

Eggenberger Straße/Asperngasse track triangle and Neutorlinie connection Annenstraße – Vorbeckgasse

WHAT IS BEING BUILT?

Complete renewal of the track triangle and connection to the tram line in Annenstraße

 

Brief information:

These construction sites require a rail replacement service for lines 1, 4, 6, 7 with the rail replacement bus lines E1 and E6. Lines E1 and E6 start at Jakominiplatz via Griesplatz, Annenstraße to the bus stops at the main railway station and continue via Köflacher Straße to Alte Poststraße.

Line E1 runs Jakominiplatz – Griesplatz – Annenstraße – Hauptbahnhof (tram stops) – Köflacher Gasse – Alte Poststraße – Georgigasse – Eggenberger Allee – Schloss Eggenberg/Schlossspark (only during the opening hours of STEIERMARK SCHAU 2025 from 10.00 to 18.00) – Eggenberg/UKH.

Line E6 runs like line E1 to Alte Poststraße, then via Laudongasse – Asperngasse – Daungasse – Waagner-Biro-Straße – Smart City.

Lines E1 and E6 into the city will run from Alte Poststraße – Eggenberger Straße – Hauptbahnhof (tram stops) via Annenstraße – Griesplatz to Jakominiplatz.

Line 62 will be diverted in both directions due to the roadworks: The ‘Asperngasse’ stop will be relocated to the “Daungasse” stop and the ‘Köflacher Gasse/PVA’ stop will be relocated to Waagner-Biro-Straße to an alternative stop.
