Re-Use Fri­day

Every Friday (and also on some Saturdays) between March and October, you can hand in reusable items in Recycling Center 2 in Sturzgasse.

The ini­tia­tive

Not everything that you no longer need has to land in the waste bin. Many items can still be easily used by somebody else. The renovation, repair and sale of Re-Use items also results in the creation of new jobs. Carla, the market for donations in kind run by Caritas shows how this is done.

Take part and bring along what you no longer need!

Info about Carla:

What is accepted?

  • Upholstered furniture: sofas, seating units, armchairs, …
  • Electrical devices: televisions, washing machines, refrigerators, electric stoves, radios, …
  • Mattresses and slatted frames: The mattresses should be clean!
  • Small items of furniture: beds, bedside tables, wardrobes, tables, chairs, benches …
  • Household goods: plates, pots, all kinds of glasses, cutlery, …
  • Textiles: clothing, shoes, accessories, bed linen, etc.


Whether an item can be re-used is a decision taken by the trained staff.  You must dispose of unusable items as bulky waste; this will incur a fee.
