Biking on the Schöckl

We offer routes for all cyclists; the funicular railway also of course takes gravity bikers up the mountain.

This awaits you:

  • a 35-kilometre-long Schöckl panoramic circular cycle route
  • bike tours and a World Championship-proven marathon route
  • The “Schöckl Trail Area” with more than 10 kilometres of diverse nature gravity trails

Here you can access the most popular tours for mountain bikers or the panoramic cycle path on Bike Culture!

Panoramic circular cycle path

The route runs at an altitude of between 750 and 1000 metres around the Schöckl with a wonderful view of the Upper Styrian mountains in the north, Eastern Styria until Riegersburg, in the south to the Pohorje Mountains in Slovenia and in Western Styria to the Koralpe.

The Schöckl trail area

The nature trails on the Schöckl are highly popular among downhill and trail bike enthusiasts: The downhill route “Gedscho” on which a European Championship was held almost 20 years ago is still one of the most difficult trails in the world.

“Gibim”, “Hintnumi” and “Silent Hill” are also to be considered as highly tricky; near the finishing line there are classical bike park obstacles and a simple exercise area in the coaching zone, where every biker can specifically hone his/her skills.

In the www.gravity-box.com powered by “Friesi´s Bikery” – the largest bike shop in Styria – you will find ingenious downhill bikes for hire and the necessary protective equipment at unbeatable hire conditions; the bike school “The Gap” will help all mountain bikers improve their technique further!
