More than 70,000 households and small businesses with fixed-price tariffs as well as new customers will benefit. Compared to 2025, this represents total annual savings of around 300 euros for an average household. And: social tariff available from 1 April 2026

Following the electricity price reduction in October 2025, Energie Graz is once again in a position to pass on the continued positive market development to its customers in a timely manner on the basis of its electricity procurement for 2026 and is therefore reducing electricity prices once again for more than 70,000 households and small businesses with fixed-price tariffs as well as for new customers.

In June 2026, Energie Graz will reduce its fixed electricity tariffs by around 30 per cent to 13.44 cents gross (11.20 cents net) per kilowatt hour for its largest customer group. For all customers who already agreed to the promotional tariff in autumn, which was reduced by 25 per cent at the time, the price reduction will be 15 per cent. The annual savings for an average household – consuming around 3,500 kilowatt hours of electricity per year – will thus amount to around 200 euros. Including the price reduction as of 1 October 2025, this average household will save around 300 euros per year, or a total of around 37 per cent. Due to the new Electricity Industry Act (ElWG) and the resulting changes to the General Terms and Conditions (GTC), no approval of the price reduction by customers is required; it will take effect automatically in June 2026. All customers will be informed of the price reduction in writing in good time.

‘With this price reduction, we are taking another important step towards providing tangible relief for the citizens of Graz,’ said Josef Landschützer and Boris Papousek, managing directors of Energie Graz.

Despite its low self-generation rate, Energie Graz offers a very attractive fixed price for existing and new customers compared to its competitors.

Additional relief for households in need

In addition, from 1 April 2026, there will be a social tariff for socially disadvantaged households with a very favourable, reduced fixed price of 6 pence net (7.20 pence gross) per kilowatt hour – up to an annual consumption of 2,900 kilowatt hours. In addition, low-income customers of Energie Graz will continue to have access to the hardship fund. This fund has been endowed with a total of one million euros. Here, customers can receive one-time support of up to 800 euros. The funds are administered by the social welfare office of the city of Graz and Caritas and are still sufficiently available.
