Our aim is to preserve and promote the unique flair, the rich tradition of the World Heritage Site and the diverse atmosphere of our city. By creating an attractive and lively city center and with targeted campaigns, we want to appeal to guests, visitors and residents alike and increase visitor frequency in a targeted manner.

Our tasks:
The City Management of Holding Graz has set itself the goal of contributing to making the city center an attractive and lively place. We offer a comprehensive service for local businesses and act as an interface between the City of Graz, Holding Graz and all of its holdings. In addition, we create experiences that attract people to our city and encourage both shopping and spending time in the heart of the city. It is important to us not only to continuously increase the attractiveness of the city center, but also to focus our efforts on the needs of city center businesses.
Service unit:
- We act as a comprehensive point of contact for business and catering establishments in the city center and are the link between them and municipal institutions such as the City of Graz, Holding Graz and its holdings.
Business development:
- We support initiatives to promote the local economy as well as businesses, the promotion of local crafts and the organization of markets or festivals with a focus on local producers.
Events:
- We attract visitors to Graz, especially during Advent. As organizers of “Advent in Graz”, we strive to increase interest in the city center and create a lively atmosphere that attracts visitors and invites them to linger.
Communication:
- We are in dialog with residents, visitors and businesses to highlight the appeal and uniqueness of the city center. We provide information about services, offers and events in order to present the city center as a lively place.
Advent in Graz:
We organize the “Advent in Graz”, an event that attracts numerous people to the center of the Styrian capital with its varied markets, a festively illuminated and decorated city centre, pre-Christmas highlights and a special flair. Advent in Graz” is not only an important event, but also an initiative to revitalize Graz city centre during the peak season for inner-city retail. The festive attractions offer visitors from the region and internationally a diverse experience in the run-up to Christmas. The visitor numbers reflect this great success.
Record number of visitors in Advent 2023!
As a look at the available frequency data from Graz city center shows, the pre-Christmas offerings in Graz once again attracted millions of visitors in 2023: from mid-November to 24 December 2023, Advent attracted a total of 2.1 million people from Austria and abroad to the Styrian capital. 2023 was an absolute record year for Advent in terms of visitor numbers.
