Launch of the GrazMobil app campaign

The free GrazMobil app has long been an integral part of everyday life for many Graz residents: over 477,000 downloads and more than 4.1 million public transport tickets sold speak for themselves. Almost one in four tickets is already purchased digitally via the app – and the trend is rising sharply.
With the new ‘Appsichtlich einfach’ (Simply smart) campaign, Graz Linien and the marketing department of Holding Graz want to convince even more people of the advantages of the digital service offering. Whether you’re going to a lecture, the gym or a concert – with just a few clicks, you can have your public transport ticket on your mobile phone.
Original themes, cross-media campaigns, social media formats, short videos and collaborations with partners such as Sturm, GAK and the 99ers will put the app in the spotlight in the coming weeks.
Many advantages in one app
Deputy Mayor Judith Schwentner: “The calculation is simple: the more people use public transport, the better it is for the climate, the air and thus the health of the people who live and work in Graz. The easier and more comfortable we make travelling by public transport, the more people will switch to public transport. One convenient service for passengers is the “Graz Mobil” app, which allows them to purchase and carry public transport tickets directly and cashlessly on their own mobile phones.”
Councillor Manfred Eber: ‘Holding Graz offers an easy way to purchase tickets via the practical GrazMobil app, but also at over 270 ticket machines in all trams and buses. Especially now, shortly before the start of school and student life, digitally savvy pupils and students can conveniently purchase their Top Ticket online via the GrazMobil app and carry it on their mobile phone.’
Holding Graz CEO Wolfgang Malik: “Our group has one central task: to provide the infrastructure of the provincial capital Graz in a contemporary manner. And a digital world simply expects a customer-oriented mobility app. We are therefore proud that the app has already sold almost a quarter of all public transport tickets online – more than 3 million tickets since 2018. With this initiative, which is part of our digital sales strategy – from Schau auf Graz to the waste app to the future leisure app – we simply want to expand and strengthen this quota.”
Holding Graz Member of the Executive Board Mark Perz: “With the GrazMobil app, passengers are well equipped for all public transport needs, from ticket purchases to the intelligent route planner and an overview of all tim locations to real-time departure times at Graz stops. According to the latest survey, 84 per cent of all Graz residents are already familiar with the service. We now want to make the practical app even better known and continue to promote digital ticket purchasing via GrazMobil.”
