Now that Holding Graz has completely redesigned its website, I took a closer look at what’s new. I came across many new features and online offers that can be used at any time and from anywhere via smartphone or tablet.
The topics of water and waste management particularly caught my eye. Because if you take a closer look at the topic of urban organisation, you simply can’t avoid these two areas.
Water? That just comes out of our pipes. Yes, I thought so too, but only a few people know that there is much more to this topic, especially in a city like Graz. In order for us to be able to use drinking, ground and surface water the way we do, it is of course particularly important that everything is checked, organised and controlled in the background. Analyses of such evaluations are even freely available to external customers.
Especially in times like these, I find it very practical that you can, for example, report your water meter reading online from home or register/re-register your water connection online via the new homepage. For those who have had enough of paperwork and want to make an additional contribution to the environment, it is also very easy to register for digital billing and have your water bill sent to you online. Current prices and charges can also be accessed online from anywhere. If you have detailed questions about water management in the city of Graz, it is best to contact the Water Management Competence Centre directly by e-mail or telephone.

In addition to the topic of water, waste management is another important area that should not be ignored these days. Correct disposal or waste separation, processing of waste, organisation of waste containers, recycling, etc. are all areas for which the Waste Management Department of the City of Graz is responsible. On the new homepage you can discover a lot about this and take advantage of a wide range of services. I would particularly like to highlight the “Graz Abfall” app. With this app you can not only get waste separation tips (as on the new homepage), but also get an overview of the waste collection calendar.
Be honest, are you always 100% sure what belongs in which bin? This is exactly where the app or the super clear waste ABC on the website can be very helpful and with the right waste separation you can also do something good for the environment. In any case, I think it’s really cool that Holding Graz has its finger on the pulse and provides such innovative solutions!
Yours, Sebastian
