Today we, Carina and Lisa, sisters and bloggers, born and raised in the beautiful capital of Styria, show you how we made our terrace summer-ready!

Despite loosening up and opening more doors soon, the next beach holiday is still in the almost unattainable distance and so of course our wanderlust is growing! As optimists, however, we always try to make the best of situations and since we like to have it nice at home – holiday or not – we decided to simply bring the holiday feeling home.

In this article we would like to show you that it doesn’t take much and that you can get everything you need right in the centre of Graz at the GrazGutschein partner businesses. Those of you who have been following us for a while probably already know that we are huge Los Angeles fans and love palm trees, so we thought: “Let’s go, let’s bring the L.A. style to our home!

What can’t be missing on a beautiful terrace? That’s right – plants! You can find great olive trees, watering cans and boho baskets that are perfect as planters at Tausendschön in Stubenberggasse!

Anyone with a green thumb is guaranteed to find what they’re looking for at Samen Köller opposite the Kunsthaus. This shop has a retro charm and besides the huge selection of seeds for growing plants, great watering cans and wonderful accessories for gardening, there are also beautiful vases in the shape of animal heads, which we have had at home for some time and love.

If your thumb (like ours) is not quite as green or if you (like us) love decoration and interior design, you absolutely have to visit the Aiola Living Store at Landhausgasse 5. There you’ll find everything your (interior) heart desires. You should definitely plan some time for a visit to the Aiola Living Store, as there is so much to admire and just strolling through the shop is an experience. But you won’t come out empty-handed – trust us!

The peacock throne, the numerous different animal lamps and the golden palm tree are particularly appealing!  For us, all these things simply exude pure holiday feeling and so we have transformed our terrace into an oasis of well-being. Which brings us back to the topic: No green thumb – no problem! In the Aiola Living Store, you can get not only the beautiful golden palm tree, but also the most tasteful and beautiful artificial flowers with which you can transform your terrace into an urban jungle without a watering can!

Of course, we didn’t miss the opportunity to put our own hands to work and green up the dreary patio wall. For all DIY fans, we recommend a visit to Kaspar Harnisch. All you need for the small leaf wall is: a sturdy cardboard box in the desired size, hot glue, scissors and artificial leaves, which you can get at Aiola Living. We removed the stems of the leaves and glued the individual leaves to the cardboard with hot glue. Then simply hang up the finished leaf wall with a nail.

We then couldn’t resist adding the finishing touches to our green oasis with parrots from the Aiola Living Store! Alternatively, we decorated the other patio wall with a DIY tapestry.
