We, Carina and Lisa, sisters and best friends, born and raised in the beautiful capital of Styria, take you through the city centre of Graz and provide you with the latest trends and inspirations, all of which you can shop at the more than 700 GrazGutschein partner businesses. We have been blogging together on www.blondiebrowniesis.com since 2015 and share insights into our lives and the topics of fashion, travel, lifestyle and food on Instagram under @Blondiebrownie.sis.

Our favourite leisure games

Today we’re not only taking you on a shopping spree, but also introducing you to our favourite leisure games. A day in one of the beautiful parks that Graz has to offer invites you to try out one or two new or forgotten games. By the way, you can find a large selection of leisure games and puzzles at Giga Sport, Pagro and Moser.

Especially at Giga Sport, you’ll not only find a huge selection of balls and games, but also really cool, unusual ball designs!

My pink basketball and the matching jumper are from Hugo BOSS x RUSSELL and you can get both at Kastner & Öhler as well as this golden NFL football or the volleyball with “Mr. Wilson” from “Cast Away”.

We love to throw a few balls, dribble a bit and shoot a few baskets, or sometimes just bounce a bit back and forth for fun. But there are so many other cool games, some of which immediately made us feel like we were back in our childhood:

One of them is Boccia – the object of this game is to throw your own balls as close as possible to a target ball or to shoot the opponent’s balls away from the target ball. This game reminds us of holidays in Italy – by the way, did you know that boccia is the Italian version of boules?

Another game is Diabolo, which means “to throw over”. The double cone-shaped piece of equipment is thrown through the air and juggled with a rope connected to sticks at the ends. With a little practice, you can perform fascinating tricks with the diabolo. If you want to learn more, we recommend a YouTube video explaining impressive tricks.

We also love badminton, which everyone probably knows. You play with a shuttlecock over a net and must not drop the ball on the ground. But you don’t necessarily need a net when playing badminton outdoors in the countryside.

If you’ve had enough of sports, you can also grab a beach towel and a puzzle book and make yourself comfortable on the grass in one of Graz’s parks. We love the ambience in the Rose Garden in the City Park – but beware, time flies when you’re doing the puzzles!
